Alyssa Cabello researched a potential family event while also considering the budget, and came up with the Bike Resource Event. With the purpose of educating residents in the bike safety. Alyssa had the opportunity to collaborated with other departments Recreation Department, Greenfield Science Workshop, and Pedestrian & Bike Safety County of Monterey. They all each assisted community with any question/concern and offered free bike repairs.
My role was to help create an Instagram Reel to announce the Bike Resource Event in a more engaging format for the Recreation Department. To help announce resources available for the community in both English and Spanish. My only restriction was keeping the video under 1 minute and providing info in English and Spanish. Other than that I had creative freedom but still collaborated with Alyssa for any of my design decisions and was open for feedback. Plus I helped out day of the event tabling at the Recreation Department about bike safety and showcasing current programs offered to the community.
ALYSSA'S WORK
All these flyers and printable safety packets were all designed by Alyssa on Canva. Alyssa created in English and Spanish because a majority of the Greenfield Community understand to help provide the information available. I only used her existing English and Spanish Flyer to showcase the flyers again in the video. You can see her posted flyers on the Recreation Department Instagram by clicking this link.
VIDEO DEVELOPMENT
A collection of my progress in developing the Bike Resource Event video with the help of my coworkers. I used Recreation work phone to record the footage and used a tripod to stabilize video for a good frame. I recorded in 4k 60fps to later downscale in DaVinci Resolve as a 1920x1080 30fps because that's Instagram required format.
Day of Event
All participating departments set up their tables and disturbed flyer and information material about bike safely tips for the community. Plus a free bike repair table by the Greenfield Science Workshop interns to assist residents with bike issues.
